Macroeconomic analysts told MTI to expect a gradual recovery in retail sales, according to which the pre-pandemic level is expected to be reached by the end of the year and the beginning of next year.

The Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday that the volume of retail trade turnover increased by 0.8 percent in June, according to raw data, and excluding the calendar effect, it remained essentially unchanged, compared to the same period of the previous year. In food and food-type mixed retail stores, the volume of sales adjusted from calendar effects increased by 1.5 percent, in fuel retail trade by 10.9 percent, and in non-food retail stores by 4.9 percent.
