The three-month unemployment rate further decreased
In the three months between April and June 2024, the number of employed people (age group 15-74) was 4,745,000, 21,000 more than a year earlier. The number of people working at foreign locations was 106,000, 4,000 more than a year ago, and the number of public employees decreased by 12,000 to 60,000 in one year. The employment rate in the 15-64 age group, which is specially monitored in the EU methodology, rose to 75.1% between April and June, from last year’s 74.7%, unchanged from the previous three months.
The number of unemployed people was 215.3 thousand people in the average of the three months examined, an increase of 23 thousand people in one year, while compared to the previous three months, their number decreased by almost 3.4 thousand people. The unemployment rate calculated according to the international methodology was 4.3% between April and June, compared to 3.9% a year earlier, but compared to the previous three months, the figure was 0.1 percentage points lower.
There were 222,800 registered jobseekers in the NFSZ register in June, which is more than 1,400 less than a year ago. The number of jobseekers decreased by 0.6% in one year and by 1.4% in one month. In June 2024, 134,200 job opportunities were available, of which 99,800 remained empty by the end of the month.
