PENNY’s Hungarian store network has continued to expand
Budapest 19th PENNY opened the doors of its newest and largest store, the 229th in a row, in the Remíz department store in Üllői út. The next milestone in the company’s continuous development in Hungary primarily facilitates the purchase of the residents of Pestszentlőrinc and Kispest and provides stable employment opportunities for 25 people.
Work began in March 2023 on the nearly 2,000 square meter area of the Üllői út shop building, and the largest PENNY store in the country was opened with an area of more than 1,300 square meters, which created new jobs for 25 people.
Following the corporate group’s climate strategy plan, all the refrigerators in the business area have glass doors and operate with climate-neutral refrigerants, and LED lighting is used throughout the entire area of the new unit. When remodeling PENNY’s newest store, the needs of local customers were also taken into account, and as a result, the butcher’s counter of the store previously operating here was also kept. In addition to traditional cash registers, self-service units were also installed in order to serve customers faster and more efficiently.
