Ranking al dente – the world’s best restaurants
There is no such thing as an objective ranking of restaurants, but ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ by Restaurant Magazine comes pretty close. They have divided the world into 26 regions and in each one of these 40 experts name the 10 best restaurants (which they visited in the last 18 months). Hungary is in the same group as Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia, and the person responsible for evaluating restaurants in the region is Christian Grünwald, editor-in-chief of Austrian magazine La Carte. This year French restaurant Mirazur became the No.1, Denmark’s Noma was the runner-up and Asador Etxebarri of Spain was ranked 3rd. Being on the list doesn’t only bring fame and prestige to the restaurants, but via the increased interest financial gains as well. //
