Mastercard says shoppers buy less but shop more often
According to a forecast for 2023 by the Mastercard Economics Institute, shoppers will have to change the contents of their shopping baskets if they wish to keep up with the pace of inflation.
They will go shopping more often, spending less and opting for brands offering value for money. A recent survey by Mastercard has found that in 2022 German FCMG buyers visited grocery stores 23% more times than in 2019, but the average spending per store visit was dropped 15%. //
