Compared to the same period of last year, the amount of online purchases in Hungary increased by 34 percent in the second quarter and reached 188 billion HUF, according to a summary published by the Jófogás internet commerce portal and the GKI Digital consulting company on Thursday.
There has been no such great expansion in internet commerce in the last 5 years, they wrote. Turnover in almost all product categories increased significantly, but mostly in food, technical articles, home furnishing and DIY products. The communication partly explains the change with the pandemic threat, as both the rise of digital education and the changed lifestyle have encouraged online shopping. (MTI)
