Egg’s price more than doubled in one year
Data from the Market Price Information System (PÁIR) of the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) reveals: the price of eggs from caged hens (size M and L) was HUF 65.94/piece in the first eight weeks of 2023, which was 112.5% higher than the average price in the same period of 2022. Deep-litter eggs (size M and L) cost HUF 74.80/piece at the place of packaging, making them 129.9% more expensive.
On the third week of February the price of milling wheat – without VAT and shipping costs – was HUF 104,400 /tonne (+7% vs. one year earlier), feed wheat cost HUF 99,000/tonne (+2%), and feed corn was available at HUF 92,000/tonne (+3%). The production price of industrial sunflower seed was HUF 193,100/tonne (–15%), rapeseed cost HUF 215,800/tonne (–7%), and soybean was sold for HUF 201,200 (–7%). In the global market the price of white sugar was EUR 525/tonne in December 2022, 1.3% above the level of last November. //
