Auchan has reduced the prices of more than 1,000 products
Auchan has already taken several significant steps to maintain domestic purchasing power. Thanks to its pricing policy, it reduced the prices of more than 1,000 products in January and February by an average of nearly 10%, exceeding inflation. In addition, pensioners and families with children receive additional discounts. Under the Trust Program, they receive a 5% discount on their total shopping amount once a month on Monday’s pensioner’s day and Thursday’s family day.
Auchan is committed to protecting purchasing power, which is why it has pursued a favorable pricing policy accordingly. In 2025, it reduced the prices of more than 1,000 food and consumer durables in hypermarkets to mitigate the effects of inflation. This means that the affected products are offered at an average price of nearly 10% cheaper, but in the case of certain product groups, such as dairy products (more than 70 dairy products) or meat products (nearly 20 types of products), this can be up to 14%. There are products where more than 30% price reductions are available.
Auchan’s loyalty program turned ten last year, which the company significantly renewed on the occasion of the anniversary. One of the novelties was precisely to reduce the spending of customer groups most exposed to the effects of inflation. Pensioners with a Trust Card and families raising children under 18 will have to pay 5% less for selected items once a month, on a Monday or Thursday of their choice, if they activate the coupon in the OkAuchan application or on the website. Auchan wants to help its regular customers, retirees and families, with this discount – which roughly triggers the rate of inflation.
“Preserving purchasing power has been our strategic goal for years. To this end, we have already taken several steps, and this year alone we have already reduced the prices of more than 1,000 products by an average of nearly 10%. In addition, we are giving the two customer groups that are most exposed to the impact of inflation a discount roughly equal to the rate of inflation, so that they do not have to cut back on their consumption. We are confident that with this and our other promotions and discounts, we will be able to contribute to reducing the financial burden of the domestic population, and that these initiatives will bring real and tangible relief to our customers,”
– said Attila Nagy, Sales Director of Auchan Hungary.
