Ten years, and there will not be enough food
Sara Menker, the founder of Gro Intelligence, a company dealing with agro-processing and agricultural development had an interesting presentation. At a TED conference she said that by 2027, the world is facing a 214 billion billions of calorie deficit, in other words, in 10 years, there will not be enough food on Earth to everyone – portfolio.hu wrote.
It has long been known that sooner or later the Earth will reach a point that there will not be enough food for all people. By 2050, the world’s population is estimated to reach 9.1 billion, according to the FAO, 70 percent more food should be produced to fulfill everyone’s needs. (portfolio.hu)
