The Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI), the Gundel family, and the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism commemorated the birthday of János Gundel – and the role of the Gundel dynasty in the world of Hungarian hospitality – by laying a wreath at his memorial plaque.

János Gundel was born in 1844 and was elected president of the trade association of restaurant owners 150 years ago. At the ceremony Dr János Gundel, 84-year-old professor of BGE paid tribute to the founder of the world-famous restaurant dynasty.
