Gulyás has plans for HoReCa

Gulyás Nagykereskedelmi Kft. – as a wholesale business – was established in 1990. In the beginning, they had paper products, later turned to tobacco and sweets and finally ended up with perfumes, chemical and paper products, which they have been wholesalers of for 12 years. At the moment, they carry 4500 products from 150 suppliers. Specialisation was made necessary by the increasing assortment we offer for our retail partners. In order to ensure as wide an assortment as possible, we had to specialise and do it in a professional way. – says Csaba Somogyi, sales manager of Gulyás Nagykereskedelmi Kft. They have a nation-wide distribution network, with nearly four and a half thousand clients. This translates into approximately a 35 per cent market share in terms of points of distribution. – In addition to nation-wide distribution, we also provide a complex logistic service with a fleet of sixty trucks. We have two major logistic centres, one in Székesfehérvár, the other in Békéscsaba. Each of our sales reps visit three hundred clients once or twice a week- adds Csaba Somogyi. They reorganisation they have completed included employees, logistics and finances and has resulted in an efficient structure which is transparent for both suppliers and clients. – We have built up a modern structure, with various sectors being separated and experts employed in all fields – says the sales manager. He believes that the HoReCa sector is important for all players in this market. They use four main categories for classifying their clients: the first is big international and domestic chains, like Schlecker, Interfruct, Azúr, or wholesalers of pharmaceuticals, the second is key account clients, like smaller chains and HoReCa businesses, the third is field clients, while the fourth is foreign partners. They intend to change this system and establish a separate HoReCa group, which requires a special assortment with qualified experts to sell it. According to Csaba Somogyi, their collaboration with clients and suppliers is based on the concept of reliable and predictable partnership.
