Last year, Auchan donated more than HUF 700 million
In 2023, Auchan Hungary provided more than HUF 700 million in support, including through food rescue, product and Trust Point donations, and the financing of various partner programs. In addition, the customers also actively participated in the programs, so year after year they prove that by joining the company, they are happy to support socially important causes.
Social responsibility, solidarity and cooperation are prominent in Auchan’s corporate culture. During the last year, the work of 9 charitable organizations was supported in the framework of 18 jointly organized actions, with a total value of HUF 60,034,278. In most cases, the purpose of the campaigns was to help people living in difficult circumstances.
The Hungarian Food Bank and the Hungarian Red Cross have been strategic partners of Auchan in the field of food rescue for several years. Last year, with the help of the two NGOs, a total of 875 tons of unsold but high-quality food, worth nearly 550 million forints, went to the needy. In addition, last year, 280 tons of food no longer suitable for human consumption were delivered to animal shelters and animal parks worth more than HUF 50 million.
