Last year, the Romanian economy shrank by 5 percent in the first three quarters
In the first three quarters of last year, the performance of the Romanian economy decreased by 5 percent year-on-year, which is 0.1 percentage points better than the 5.1 percent decline announced in last November’s flash report – the Romanian National Statistics Institute announced on Tuesday.
The statistical institute also improved the seasonally and calendar-adjusted value, so that the Romanian economy decreased by 4.5 percent in the period under review, compared to the 4.6 percent previously reported.
In the third quarter, Romania’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 5.8 percent from the second quarter, up 0.2 percentage points from the 5.6 percent reported in the flash report. (MTI)
