Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in 2020 and the restrictions imposed, passenger traffic at Romanian airports has decreased by about 70 percent. The biggest loss was at Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest, whose passenger traffic fell from 14.7 million to 4.449 million, a drop of 69.7 percent.
