Last year, passenger traffic at Bucharest’s Henri Coanda International Airport increased by 55 percent
Passenger traffic at Henri Coanda (Otopeni) International Airport in Bucharest grew by 55 percent to 6.914 million last year, compared to 2020, a state-owned company operating Bucharest airports said on Friday.
Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in 2020 and the restrictions imposed, passenger traffic at Romanian airports has decreased by about 70 percent. The biggest loss was at Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest, whose passenger traffic fell from 14.7 million to 4.449 million, a drop of 69.7 percent. Last year’s result represents a 55 percent increase compared to this low base, as it is still 53 percent lower than last year’s 2019 figure. (MTI)
