Learning and experimenting
Orsolya Karikó, head confectioner of Vanília&Gelarto Artisan Confectionery in Nagykőrös, won Cake of Hungary this year, with her creation called Cheeky Plum Prince. She told our magazine that this victory is the biggest honour a confectioner can earn in Hungary today. Family confectionery Vanília&Gelarto regularly participates in competitions.
Ms Karikó likes to experiment with flavours, she reads a lot about new ingredients and follows the best international confectioners online, who really inspire her in her work. She loves to learn, make progress and keep up with the latest trends, getting to know new technologies.
Vanília&Gelarto likes the French style in confectionery, but they also nurture the traditions of Hungarian dessert making. They like to combine traditions with innovation.
