Advices for job hunters
When is it time to look for a new job? Well, it is worth considering it if one keeps waking up around 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning with the feeling that they hate going to work, cannot stand their boss and are sick of their colleagues.
A position is only worth applying for if we really feel like working for the given company in the given position. It creates a better impression if we are looking for work while we already have one. When the decision is made, one can start writing their CV. It should be short and concise, 1-1.5 pages at the maximum with more details about one’s current job. My opinion is that it is better if no photo is contained in the CV, because without a photo the person who reads the CV can form a more objective opinion. The most important task is to prepare well for the interview. One should check out the website of the company first, to gather some general information. At the interview close attention must be paid to the questions as half of the answer is already in there. We should not talk too much, but one-word sentences will not do good to us either. It is worth getting to know in advance about how formal or easy-going life is at the company and dress accordingly. One should also play attention to their body language. My opinion is that if we are offered the same position as our present one, it is only worth going to the new place if we will earn at least 20 percent more. If a higher position is offered, more factors must be considered. Let us not forget that no ideal workplace exists, there can be annoying things everywhere and if we enjoy our work and our performance is appreciated, it is worth staying in the present job.
