The Trade Union of Commercial Employees has received support to increase its membership
The Trade Union of Commercial Employees (KASZ) has won a non-refundable European grant of 139 million forints. The aim of the project is for the union to expand the circle of employees participating in collective interest protection, thereby “strengthening its capacity”, KASZ told MTI.
According to the information, as a result of the support of a tender announced within the framework of the Széchenyi Plan Plus, the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus (GINOP Plus), the union will create four new jobs.
The main task of the new employees is to win over employees to participate in collective interest protection, because only this provides support for the protection of employee rights.
Among these, the union mentioned the provision of rest time and appropriate benefits, or protection against possible managerial overreach.
As a result of the project, it will be possible to present the trade union’s activities more widely through events, information materials, dissemination of knowledge on social media, and training of trade union officials.
In order to present the trade union, a series of events will be launched with the involvement of employees of larger commercial employers, which will provide a framework for exchanging opinions on workplace experiences, difficulties, and expectations related to the protection of interests.
An important role is assigned to negotiations aimed at expanding collective agreements and expanding knowledge, for which the international event to be organized as part of the project will also provide a good opportunity
