He said that agriculture has primarily served efficiency gains with expanding consumer demand with declining specific emissions, but this cannot be further improved with such methods. Reducing the ecological footprint of agriculture requires other methods, such as maintaining soil life through rotation-free cultivation, improving the energy of farm buildings, circular farming, but most importantly, reducing food waste.
