Syngenta presented an online hybrid selection solution for blackboards
Syngenta’s latest digital development, the Cropwise Seed Selector, has arrived in Hungary. Through the online hybrid selection platform based on the data of several decades of weather and tens of thousands of performance tests, farmers can receive sunflower and corn hybrid recommendations for the field in a few minutes, thus saving time and making their field work more efficient.
The last five years have also brought great progress in domestic agricultural digitization. As one of the world’s leading agricultural companies, it is a strategic issue for Syngenta to provide its partners with complex digital solutions that contribute to their successful farming, in addition to excellent genetics and effective, innovative plant protection.
The newest member of Syngenta’s Cropwise family, the Seed Selector, helps them in one of the most important steps, the selection of the hybrid
“Choosing the right genetics is crucial for successful farming. Our new platform, Seed Selector, helps you make decisions before the season, regardless of the size of the farm and fields. We designed the system for our company’s market-leading sunflower offer and the excellent performance hybrids of our corn portfolio, which has an ever-increasing market share. Cropwise Seed Selector’s recommendations are based on the latest available test data and change according to new results and our expanding hybrid selection. Our offers only include hybrids that we have tested over several years under various environmental conditions”, emphasized Tamás Tóth, seed marketing manager of the Syngenta Danube region.
Available on smartphones, tablets and desktop browsers, Cropwise Seed Selector can be used anywhere and anytime
The development, which is already available to Hungarian farmers, recommends the most suitable sunflower or corn hybrid for the selected fields, taking into account the results of more than 50,000 European experimental sites and 20 years of weather data.
The advantages of the system are already used by farmers on more than 5.2 million hectares in Europe
After the recommendation, farmers can submit their seed request to the company with the “Request e-Seed” button. The system automatically places the exact amount of seed bags required and the hybrids you want to request into the basket. At the end of the process, an e-claim is generated, which can be sent by e-mail or printed and redeemed at a local trading partner.
