Well-trained veterinarians are needed
Today, our country’s veterinary specialists have to find solutions to many challenges, and in addition to diseases, animal protection is also an important part of the veterinary profession, said Dr. Márton Nobilis, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for food industry and trade policy, at the opening of the academic year of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest.
The state secretary emphasized that the university is famous for its excellent education and commitment to animals, and thanks to this, it is one of the best universities in the world. For more than a century and a half, the institution has been helping students to become the best professionals in the field of veterinary science. All this is helped by the fact that the university not only provides scientific knowledge, but also builds a community. Dr. Márton Nobilis noted that veterinary work is not just a job, but a profession. A commitment to preserving and improving the health and welfare of animals is associated with values such as professional competence and respect for animals.
The state secretary drew attention to the fact that without veterinarians, there would be no food safety
Veterinarians therefore play an important role even in today’s difficult times, as they have to deal with several animal diseases every day. The animals and their owners count on you to be the best professionals, he concluded.
