Slovenia will buy up the wheat produced in the country through the Institute of State Commodity Reserves, and will also provide support to farmers in the amount of 22 million euros, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob announced on Friday in Ljubljana.

“Unfortunately, the situation in the world – especially in Ukraine – is getting worse every day, and this is not only visible in prices, but also in the availability of food for the future,” said the Prime Minister.

He emphasized: on the one hand, the government wants to reduce the costs of farmers through subsidies, which have a direct impact on food prices due to high fuel prices and the increase in the price of fertilizers and seeds, and on the other hand, it wants to create an effective retail price control system.
