We love champagne
Seasonality characterises Hungarian champagne consumption too, but the situation is better now than it was 30 or 40 years ago: nearly 60 percent of champagne sales are realised in the end-of-year period. Three quarters of the sparkling wine and champagne made in Hungary are sold in the domestic market. In the last 5 years the volume of import was 10,000-20,000 litres. Currently the world’s biggest producer is Italy, followed by France, Germany and Spain.
