We mostly stock up on sandwich ingredients
Baked goods, cold meats, ham, salami and some kind of spread – these types of food are found in most households based on a recent KOMETA survey. You can say everything that forms the basis of a great sandwich. Some people can’t imagine everyday life without Túró Rudi or biscuits, but there were also respondents for whom milk coffee with sugar adds the spice of life.
What are the 3 foods that can always be found in the kitchen? – asked the question in KOMETA’s March prize draw* on Facebook and Instagram. Based on the almost 1,700 responses, most households have almost everything needed to make a good sandwich. Most of the respondents (61%) definitely have some baked goods at home, 56% have salami, cold meats, ham or hot dogs, and 48% have margarine or butter. Dairy products form a popular product group beyond the various spreads. Eggs are part of the most basic food in every third household, and three out of ten refrigerators contain cheese.
It’s not surprising how popular sandwich takeaways are, since according to KOMETA’s previous representative research**, there is hardly a Hungarian who does not eat a sandwich at least once a week, and half of the population indulges in this classic dish every day.
