One hundred and fifty small producers open their doors as part of the Open Porta Days event series
More than one hundred and fifty family farms, cellars and manufactories will open their doors nationwide between August 23 and October 4 as part of the Open Porta Days event series.
The organizers wrote in a statement sent to MTI that the program series will guide interested parties to the beauties of rural life, the world of animal husbandry, crop production and gastronomy. They added that guests can participate in product tastings, porta tours and craft activities, and in addition to the free programs, numerous workshops.
The aim of the series of events is to increase the awareness of agritourism and to help raise awareness of service providers operating in the sector and the experience programs they offer
The announcement quotes Imre Hubai, the State Secretary responsible for agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture, who said that the relationship between local producers and consumers and the development of short supply chains are a priority task. He added that as a result of the cooperation of professional organizations, one hundred and fifty small producers from four regions will open their doors in the first year. First, between August 23 and 24, they will welcome guests under the title of Everything in Szatmár-Bereg, between September 20 and 21, they will hold Swabian Corner, and on September 27, the treasures of the Iron Curtain and the Small Plain will be presented. The series of programs will conclude on October 4 under the title Heart of Transdanubia, when local producers from the Balaton Uplands to the Vasi-hegyhát can be visited.
