Companies and public institutions in Kőbánya are looking for employees in more than a hundred professions

The beer industry, which everyone comes across first, is represented by Dreher and several smaller breweries, while prominent players in the automotive industry include Bosch and Continental. In addition to regionally significant event venues, Hungexpo and Kincsem Park, the experience-oriented shopping center, KÖKI, is also frequently visited. The Central and Eastern European pharmaceutical industry is fundamentally dominated by the large companies here: Ceva-Phylaxia, Hungaropharma, as well as Egis and Gedeon Richter.

Despite the fact that new job advertisements are showing a decreasing trend nationwide, the domestic and international multinationals located here are waiting for new employees in more than a hundred professions. Therefore, the Kőbánya Economic Development and Innovation Council, which was established by the municipality, the corporate sector and local community actors, is now focusing on presenting the special employer face of Kőbánya. As part of the “X-GAIN” partnership, a forward-looking and collaborative platform has been launched to support the district.

Different industries are working with more than 60 contributors to embrace local issues: from infrastructure and mobility, through programs supporting healthy lifestyles and volunteering, to local innovation and startup culture, and career guidance in many areas. In addition, the program focuses on supporting cooperation between local companies, coordinating communication and developments.

In recent years, the role of local communities and local values, including jobs in the immediate environment, has increased. To showcase the rich and diverse employer face of Kőbánya, a local job fair was announced under the auspices of the X-GAIN partnership, where, in addition to the corporate culture and professions operating here, participants can also get to know the district itself as a working environment and community where it is good to live and work.

The main goal of the event is to further strengthen the rate of local employment, the benefits and effects of which are both for employees, employers and the environment. are also becoming increasingly important on the side. With the aim of creating a tradition, the first Kőbányai SzakmaFeszt will be held on November 8th to support employees in finding a new job that suits them.

Based on pre-registrations, the organizers expect several hundred interested parties and there is also intense interest in career orientation.

The Kőbányai SzakmaFeszt will also provide a place for the X-Challenge previously announced by X-GAIN The aim of this initiative was to encourage the development of innovative concepts, visions and concrete action plans that could contribute to the renewal of urban mobility. The innovation ideas competition invited forward-thinking high school and university students, entrepreneurs and city lovers to brainstorm together. At the X-Challenge closing event held within the framework of the SzakmaFeszt, a jury consisting of large companies from the X. district and representatives of the Municipality will select the most outstanding innovation ideas.
