McDonald’s banished disposable plastics
The switch will result in the disappearance of 46 million plastic straws, more than 11 million plastic spoons and 2 million plastic forks and knives per year.
As a result of the switch, 99 percent of the packaging used for products made in restaurants will come from renewable, recycled, or third-party-certified, sustainable sources. The restaurant chain spends 800 million forints a year on the changeover. (MTI)
