The future paper handkerchief to be made of straw
One of the world’s largest manufacturers of hygiene paper products, Essity, announced a 12 billion HUF green development. In the future, the company will produce household and industrial professional hygiene paper products using alternative fibers.
As a leading global hygiene and healthcare company, Essity is committed to recycling and green technologies. The company invests some 400 million SEK, or approximately 12 billion HUF, in the development of sustainable alternative fiber technology. This development will enable the company to produce high-quality household and industrial hygiene paper products from the wheat straw of agricultural by-products in the Mannheim plant. Production is expected to start from the second half of 2020.
