At the event, the Minister drew attention to the fact that with the strategic partnership agreement signed on Thursday, agricultural higher education in Debrecen has reached another milestone. The common interest of the Ministry of Agriculture and the University of Debrecen is long-term safe food production, which cannot be achieved without well-trained professionals, modern achievements and developments. With the help of science, we are looking for answers to how we can make agriculture more resilient with innovation, developments, intensive and resource-efficient technologies. Therefore, the partners cooperate in areas that are decisive for our future, such as water management, adaptation to climate change or reducing the ecological footprint of agricultural and food production, he added. The minister also mentioned that another important area of the partnership for the future is agricultural higher education and secondary agricultural vocational training. After all, the success of the generational change is the key to the future of Hungarian agriculture.

Thanks to the renewal of vocational training and higher education, more and more young people are choosing the agricultural profession, which is also a great strength for the countryside

István Nagy said that the strategic agreement also affects areas such as professional advice and knowledge management in the food chain and rural development; the practical usability of agricultural R&D&I and scientific results; food industry and food trade, fish and game farming, the preservation of our agro-cultural heritage, the strengthening of the social acceptance of agriculture and the Hungarian countryside.
