MIRELITE MIRSA’s frozen bear’s garlic wins SIAL d’Or Hungarian award
Early May, SIAL organisers invited the representatives of leading FMCG trade magazines from 30 countries to Paris, to present products, which are likely to be successful, in 9 categories to each other and to decide which reflect current food trends the most. From Hungary the following products qualified: FrieslandCampina’s 10Pöttyös cottage cheese bonbon, Her-Csi BOCSI chicken, Matheus Pálinkaház’s products, Mirelite Mirsa’s frozen bear’s garlic, PICK Szeged’s Mangalica sausage, SIÓ Vitatigris fruit purée and its nectar product family in aseptic PET bottle, Vajkai Reserve wines and Unilever Algida Carte d’Or Dobos cake ice cream. Every product was presented in 2 minutes to the representatives of the other 29 countries.
The photos of the product were projected during the presentation and jury members also had a chance to examine its model. This year the focus seemed to be on the innovative character of the product itself, instead of new packaging solutions. You can find the greatest successes in the table – the other 29 foreign magazines are also introducing them these days. From Hungary MIRELITE MIRSA’s frozen bear’s garlic scored the highest. There were interesting products from other countries too, for instance frozen pineapple on a stick or honey drops. In the table we also introduce the nine category winners. Only one thing remains a secret until October: Which of these 30 products is going to win the SIAL d’Or Global prize? The representatives of the 30 trade magazines cast their votes, which are kept in a locked and sealed box until 17 October, the opening day of SIAL.
