A walk in the future

Welcome to Future Store Innovations! With this initiative our objective was to present retail-use technological innovations at stand 211/C of Foodapest.. Please, follow me. As we approach the store’s entrance we see the prism foil, distributed by Nortek Kft., and the film projected onto it. It can be used in shop windows or in-store. Magyar Telekom and its now Origo-owned affiliate, M Factory were one of the main sponsors of Future Store. Their Bluetooth totem at the entrance communicates with the mobile phones of entering customers. Let’s walk through the giant gate of Célcsoport Média and look at its decoration and Mobilia-Artica’s digital interactive display. Let’s take one of Wanzl’s recycled plastic shopping trolleys (available in 3 sizes) and enter the store; by the entrance we find the Wanzl TOMRA bottle and PET return machine. Bizerba’s self-service, product-recognising scales help in buying fruits and vegetables. In the refrigerators Odin’s RFID-based temperature sensors register the temperature and send the data to the store’s computer. Shelf labels of different size and capabilities come from Szintézis – the system realises a two-way communication: when prices change, the new price is immediately indicated on the shelf labels, which confirm the change to the store system. Wanzl’s two permanent circle displays are perfect for secondary placement or promotions – the boxes on one of them were made by STI Petőfi Nyomda, designed using 3D modelling. On the blue ipont totem Origo, formerly M Factory presents a real 3D monitor that enables a spectacular three-dimensional presentation, without glasses. Right next to it there are two displays by STI Petőfi Nyomda with lighting and other built-in panels. In the corner stand two Bizerba counter scales, perfect for deli, meat or cheese counters. They display obligatory information, advertisements and personal offers to customers, while on the shop assistant’s side product information and ingredients are listed, but recipes can also be printed. On the gondolas in the centre there are Knorr products, Lipton pyramid tea and SIÓ PET and Tetra Pak products – Megadesign’s shelf separators, coloured product separators and illuminated product cordons facilitate an effective product arrangement. All the shelves were provided by Megaholz: the module-system variable shelf solutions guarantee a perfect display for products of all sizes and weight. Wanzl Possibility display is a really creative shop in shop solution, built on an EU-pallet. At the chemicals department M Factory placed two 2D mobile codes on Zewa’s toilet paper display – customers can use their mobile phones to read these for interesting product information and other contents. Odin’s intelligent shelves indicate product quantity on the Zewa and ICO displays, using RFID technology. Orbit’s T-shaped cash register stands is perfect for offering chewing gum to customers while queuing. With the self-service cash register system, developed by IBM, customers are served more rapidly. Szintézis’ fiscal solution and software facilitate the use of these IBM systems in Hungary. M Factory’s mobile coupons are also validated here: using the 2D code the cash register validates the discount. We hope to see you at the next presentation of Future Store Innovation too!
