20,000 melon and 200,000 tons of watermelon yields are expected
Around 20,000 tons of Hungarian melons are expected to be harvested in about 500 hectares of production area in the days of harvesting – was said on a press conference held at the Roszik Dinnye Kft., the largest Hungarian melon producer.
According to the producer feedbacks, there is no reason to complain about the quality of melon at the moment: the necessary plant health measures have been taken by the producers, so the plants and the fruits are also developing well in the foil tents and outdoors as well. From the 4800 hectares of watermelon production area, 200,000 tons of watermelon harvest is expected.
