Consumer confidence in the EU deteriorated in January
According to a preliminary flash estimate published by the European Commission on Thursday, the January consumer confidence index deteriorated by 1.7 points to minus 15.5 points in the 19-nation eurozone and by 1.6 points to minus 16.5 points in the European Union.
Both values are well below the long-term averages, as the long-term average of the euro area indicator is minus 11 points and the EU’s is minus 10.6 points. (MTI)
