Lidl expands in Romania
Lidl prepares to conquer Romania. The German supermarket chain will open 20 stores in Hungary’s eastern neighbor, the first department stores will be in Bucharest.
The first Lidl stores were opened in the 70s, near Ludwigshafen. Due to the growing international expansion in the 90s we can meet Lidl stores almost in every European countries. So nowadays Lidl – ahead of everyone else – became Europe's largest discount-food trade network. Lidl invests 2 million euros (540 million HUF) in each of its stores – reports penzcentrum.hu.
