Anikó Raisz: There is a huge debate between countries regarding the reduction of food waste and waste
The issues of competitiveness, agriculture and demography will be of particular importance during Hungary’s consecutive EU presidency, said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy responsible for the environment and circular economy at the National Sustainable Development Council’s meeting on Friday in Budapest.
Anikó Raisz emphasized that during the presidency, the Hungarian interests should not be “passed through fire and water”, but the appropriate compromises should be found in the name of the community.
The task is not easy, since after the European Union elections, Hungary will hold the presidency in an interim period, the formation of the European Parliament is expected in September, and the creation of the committee towards the end of the year – pointed out the state secretary.
Anikó Raisz stated that among the Hungarian priorities is the topic of preserving competitiveness, because it is of strategic importance from the point of view of the whole of Europe that the green transition and the transition to a circular economy bring strength, not weakness.
