Turkey Association: the growth of the sector has stopped
After the expansion of 2014 and 2015 the growth in the Turkey sector has stopped this year. This year’s production was around 102 thousand tons which is similar to last year’s – Erdélyi István, president of the Hungarian Turkey Association told MTI.
This year, the sector had to deal with a number of challenges – he said and cited the the globally declining prices and demand as an example as well as the bird flu, and that EU’s largest turkey-producing countries Germany, France, Italy, and Poland is significantly increased their production.
