Profession.hu: a diploma is a requirement in fewer and fewer job advertisements
For years, fewer and fewer job advertisements have required a diploma, and in 2023, only 21.5 percent of applicants were expected to have a higher education, according to Profession.hu.
The analysis by the recruitment agency shows that companies offering job opportunities are increasingly examining the personality, motivation, learning abilities, and willingness to develop of applicants. Amidst rapidly changing conditions, these are the most important characteristics, and the spread of the skills-based approach can therefore be explained by the transformation of the labor market, according to the announcement.
They added that certain competencies can even compensate for the lack of a diploma, although higher education has not lost its importance because it assumes a broad perspective, advanced problem-solving skills, information, and willingness to learn.
The applicant data also shows that the salary requirements of career starters increased significantly last year, jumping from 308,000 forints net to 383,000 forints in one year, with an average of around 400,000 forints for graduates of economic and technical universities. These qualifications also lead the list among those with at least 10 years of work experience, with an average salary requirement of between 675,000 and 700,000 forints, they wrote.
There are almost 265,000 registered graduates in the profession.hu database, which is the number of employees relevant to the analysis among its own clients. Most of them studied at the Budapest University of Economics, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the University of Debrecen, the Eötvös Loránd University of Science and Technology and the University of Szeged, according to the announcement.
