Tesco met with its potential suppliers
Tesco held its first regional meeting of suppliers in Debrecen. The hypermarket chain met with smaller firms – including the producers of local specialties – that can became supplier of the company on regional level.
On the meeting in Debrecen, about 30 company representatives took part, who welcomed Tesco's initiative.
"We are aware that consumers want to see more local products on the shelves of the stores. We also know that smaller suppliers have had difficulties so far, during the deliver to a major supermarket chain. Our current initiative is to resolve both issues together. We are looking for enthusiastic partners, who know and love their own region and its specialties, "said John Scouler, Commercial Director of Tesco.
