EuroCommerce

According to Christian Verschuerent, director general of EuroCommerce, the Brussels-based retail organisation makes great efforts to improve the image of retail trade. He thinks that the spreading of digitalisation and personalisation consumers can choose from many buying options, so the demand for information is on the rise. Europe’s strengths are regulation, consumers and data protection, food safety, sustainability and circular economy aspects. Barriers still exist in European retail trade, but the different countries treat each other with respect and will always serve customers in their mother tongue.
