According to the proposed amendment of the commercial law; the firms from January, should obtain the approval of the Professional Board for Sustainable Trade (FKSZT) if they want to open stores over 300 square meters.

The Board will have full power: They will decide wich retail store can receive a permission on the basis of environmental, townscape, transport, sustainable design, heritage conservation, waste management, as well as the impact on the surrounding villages issues. The administration can also prohibit the construction of larger commercial businesses – reports Népszabadság Online.
