Teaming up to keep adolescent girls involved in sports

Girls’ opportunities for sports continue to face numerous obstacles. The range of sports on offer in Budapest is wider, but in rural areas the opportunities are much narrower. In addition to unequal access to sports, menstrual anxiety also holds many girls back from regular exercise. Always and SPAR have now joined forces for them in a joint charity program.

The “Let’s go, girls!” initiative, which launches today, aims to ensure that girls do not miss out on sports even after they start menstruating. As part of the campaign, 60 forints will be donated to the Fortissimo – Together for Athletes Foundation for Sports Youth for every Always sanitary napkin purchased in SPAR and INTERSPAR stores between October 2 and 29, 2025.

The collected support supports the foundation’s Multisport program, the main goal of which is to ensure that girls and boys can participate in the sessions in equal proportions. It provides a versatile sports opportunity for children at a national level in a playful way, by trying out various sports. In the process, not only physical abilities are developed, but also mental and social skills, such as self-confidence, team spirit, and the management of victory and defeat.
