Biokontroll goes on a national tour

In October-November, Biokontroll Hungária Nonprofit Kft. organizes a cross-country tour in October-November in connection with the new cycle of agricultural subsidies, in order to spread knowledge related to organic farming to as many producers as possible. Participation in the series of accredited events organized by Biokontroll and occasionally by the Ministry of Agriculture at the five locations is free, only registration is required.

A new five-year support program for organic farmers and those transitioning to organic farming will soon be available. With the new ÖKO Program, on the one hand, the government and the union want to encourage the maintenance and expansion of organic farming, and on the other hand, they want to compensate the higher costs of organic farmers compared to intensive, chemical farming. As is known, the common goal of the union and the government is to increase the cropland cultivated with organic farming to 25% compared to the total cropland, which obviously requires efforts from all sector actors – outlined the situation by dr. Péter Roszík, managing director of Biokontroll Nonprofit Kft. “Since switching to organic farming is a serious decision and responsibility, it is natural, and even expected, that the producers involved should only do so with adequate information and in possession of all the information. This is what our country tour serves, where we personally inform producers on site, with the help of Biokontroll’s specialists, answer their questions and share with them all the information related to organic farming that they need to make such a serious decision. During October and November, our colleagues are waiting for interested parties in Kecskemét, Nyíregyháza, Budapest, Kaposvár and Győr, the exact locations and times are available on the Biokontroll website. The Ministry of Agriculture also delegates a speaker to the event in Kecskemét, whose presentation will be presented at all locations.”

The organizers are confident that with this tour they can bring it closer and make organic farming more tangible for farmers, who will thus consider the transition in a greater proportion

The program series is also available as credit training for consultants. The fulfillment of the above 25% commitments would be extremely important not only for improving domestic soils, the environment, and the health of consumers, but also for reducing the environmental footprint of global and European agriculture.
