There is a huge shortage of sugar in domestic stores due to the price cap
Granulated sugar has been in short supply in many stores for weeks – we learn from RTL Híradó. In a chain store in Budapest, they don’t even know when they will get the next supply.
According to the president of the National Association of Sugar Beet Growers, this is because people bought up sugar due to the price cap. The government – just as in relation to the milk that is also missing from the shelves in many places – has written that they will check whether the price-stopped products are available.
In the viewer footage sent to Híradó, it is clear that the sugar shelf was empty in one of the shops in Budapest. The sender of the recording wrote that he was only able to shop in the many stores. In one place, he also asked the seller what was causing the shortage. He also sent the recording of this to the news station.
We don’t know when we will get it at all. It doesn’t even come into the center. There were delivery difficulties at the level of the entire network. We can’t even order anymore. When we receive a hand from the center, then it is
said the shopkeeper.
