Hungarians spends 80 billion HUF on cheese
According to Nielsen market research company; cheese is the food which has one of the biggest turnover. The retail sales of cheese are stable and, exceeds 80 billion HUF per year.
The market volume has grown by 3 percent between May 2008 and April 2009, compared to the similar period of the previous year. The importance of the acquisition places are almost unaltered. Hypermarkets in the measured quantities took 46 percent of the retail turnover just like the same way as in the last year and before.
The cheese is the third largest category of turnover – after meat and beer – among the 90 food product groups, which were measured by Nielsen. Its price became 17 percent cheaper from one year to another.
