Retail sales grew in Europe
In May, retail sales increased by 0.4 percent, compared to the previous month in the euro zone and in the European Union – the European Union's statistical office, the Eurostat announced on Tuesday.
The 0.4 percent increase of May is this year's highest growth figure in the euro zone’s retail turnover.
In April, the monthly growth in the 19 member states of the euro zone was 0.2 percent and 0.6 percent in the EU 28.
The largest increase in retail sales compared to the previous month was registered in Sweden in May: 2.1 percent. In Estonia retail sales increased by 1.5 percent and in Ireland by 1.3 percent. (MTI)
