U.S. retail sales increased in January
The U.S. Department of Commerce said on Wednesday that seasonally and calendar-adjusted retail sales and hospitality became 649.8 billion USD in January, up 3.8 percent from December, when a 2.5 percent decline was mweasured. Analysts expected a more modest 2 percent monthly sales growth in January.
Year-on-year, retail and hospitality sales grew 13 percent in January. (MTI)
