Premium income from agricultural insurance increased last year
In Hungary, farmers paid 16 billion HUF in plant insurance premiums to insurers in 2020, 16.7 percent more than in the previous year, the premium income of the animal insurance sector reached 646 million HUF, an increase of 19.5 percent compared to 2019 – according to the publication of the Institute of Agricultural Economics on agricultural insurance.
Claims paid amounted to 6.6 billion HUF in plant insurance and 159 million HUF in the animal insurance sector.
Premiums written for property and liability insurance amounted to 1.8 billion HUF, and claims paid amounted to 605 million HUF last year. (MTI)
