No more plastic labels on Actimel bottles in Germany
Danone in Germany is removing the plastic label tape from Actimel yoghurt bottles with immediate effect.
The company’s aim with this step is to save around 300 tonnes of plastic annually in Germany.
In addition, the company says it will increase the recyclability of its packaging to 99%, which is certified by the Cyclos-HTP certification body.
Actimel bottles without plastic labels will be gradually introduced at food retailers with immediate effect. The changeover will affect all Actimel products in Germany, with the exception of the children’s range.
Actimel yoghurt drinks containing vitamins D and B6 have been available in Germany for more than 30 years. One bottle contains 20 billion L. Casei yoghurt cultures.
