Nielsen: 432 tonnes of chocolate Santas was sold last year
The food retail sector broke a record again last year in terms of season seasonal sweetness sales during the Christmas holidays.
The stores achieved a more than ever, 3.4 billion HUF in revenue with around 656 tonnes of sweet gifts, in last November-December – the Nielsen Retail Index reveals among others.
The hit product is traditionally the chocolate Santa Claus figures, of which last year about 432 tonnes was sold; 3 percent more than in the year before. In terms of value, this is more than 2 billion HUF, which is 8 percent higher than in the previous year. (Source: Nielsen)
