NGM: the Tourism Advisory Board met
The Tourism Advisory Board, led by Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy, held its first autumn meeting, the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) told MTI.
According to the announcement, at the meeting of the advisory and consultative board of the Ministry of National Economy, the participants analyzed in detail the most important economic processes affecting tourism, as well as discussed the most important issues of the sector and the short- and long-term challenges facing them.
More than 30 professional tourism organizations are represented in the board’s work, including the Balaton Development Council, the Hungarian Bathing Association, the Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants Association, the Tokaj Wine Region Development Council, and the Association of Hungarian Travel Agencies.
Márton Nagy emphasized that tourism is a sector of outstanding strategic importance for the Hungarian economy, which accounts for more than 10 percent of the GDP and provides work for nearly 400,000 people.
